On March 8, 4 individuals broke into the attendance office and lit an incendiary device and attempted to set fire to the main office and library. Fortunately the flammable liquid that was sprayed around the office did not catch fire and only minimal damage occurred. The individuals that committed these crimes have been apprehended.
The following statement was read to students on the morning of March 12. If you have questions or concerns you too may contact the staff members listed in the statement.
As a result of an anonymous tip, we were able to solve the crime of arson that occurred over the past weekend. We are all sad that this incident occurred, but the individuals involved need to be held responsible for their actions.
We hope that that this incident will not be repeated in the future, because it places us all in danger. This is the only school we have and we all need to join together to protect it and keep it safe. We appreciate those of you who understand the courage it takes to stand up for what is right. This incident is being investigated by the fire department and the sheriff’s department. Anyone involved in interfering with these ongoing investigations could face consequences from the school and the investigating departments.
