7th Graders- Write a story using all ten spelling words.  Remember to read at least 10 pages and complete your reading log.  The prompt for the week is: My Favorite Part is ....  Also, can you find an elipsis?

 

8th Graders- AR as usual.  Bronx projects are due tomorrow.  No late projects will be accepted.  You can drop your project off by the door if you would like to before school starts.

1.  Read AR, take tests, and check out books today or tomorrow at the very latest (no book check out or tests next week due to the book fair).  Make sure you've read some fiction and some nonfiction.

2.   Rehearse your lit discussion questions (are they clearly worded? interesting? do you have data or information?) and the reading of your poem or short story (think about pauses, rate, volume, and emphasis).

Monday: finish timeline and power statement about the French and Indian War

Tuesday: Get an article from a newspaper or the Internet about taxes or government spending. It must be current within the last week. You need to write a power statement and four sentences about the article and say what kind of tax it is or how was tax money spent. Attach the article and have the 5 sentence summary. Due Thursday

 

Binders

Binders are due on 10/12/07 check the syllabus for information. You need to have your three sections: Journals, Graded Assignments, and Notes and Handouts. You may type your journals for up to 40 extra credit points. All of your graded assignments must be in order and the table of content must be filled out and in the front of the graded sections. It is worth 150 points, you also need your homework pass and bathroom pass in the front of your binder for extra credit.

Wednesday:  Continue to study for the test .

Thursday:  Study your folders to use in day two of the test.

Friday:  No Homework.  You deserve a rest!!
