HEADS UP!!! This is State Testing Week. Get plenty of sleep and eat a healthy breakfast each day so that your brain can do its best work. Have you checked your online grades to make sure that all labs have been handed in?

You have two homework assignments this week:

1) Work on your "Keepin' Cool" project. Your proposal is due on 5/8 (THIS IS A DATE CHANGE) and your project and presentation is due on 5/19. We will spend more time discussing the project once the CST Science Test is finished.

2) Read your non-fiction science book, take the AR quiz and show your results to Ms. Chollar. The last day to take an AR Quiz is 5/15. The last day to show Ms. C. your AR quiz results is 5/19. Be sure to bring your book to school during State Testing so that you can use your extra time wisely.

HEADS UP!!! Your CST Chemistry REview Pack is due on Monday, 4/28. Don't forget to be working on your "Keepin' Cool" research project and be reading your non-fiction science book.

ALL WEEK: This week the homework will be light because of our state testing schedule. There are, however, two things that you should be working on:

Read a non-fiction science book that has an AR test. Our librarian, Megan Fuller, can help you find a book that matches your interests. Take the AR quiz and show Ms. Chollar your score. Important dates: 5/7-last day to check out a book; 5/17-all library books due; 5/25-last day for AR quizzes; 5/26-last day to show Ms. C your AR quiz grade.

Choose a research group and product for the Brand X project. Go to the store and find 3 brands to test. Work on your proposal. Important dates: 5/3-Proposal due; 5/8-Script due; 5/9-Script memorized; 5/17-Data table due; 5/24-Power Point Outline due; 5/29-Power Point Presentations due to Ms. C's computer Hand-In Folder.

HEADS UP !!! This week we will be preparing for the California Standards Test (CST) in 8th grade science. Ms. Silva and I have both prepared review packs that will help you remember the key concepts that you have learned this year in science.

All week: Work on review packs. Ms. Chollar's pack is due on 4/19. Ms. Silva's pack is due on 4/23. All 8th graders are required to complete both packs.

HEADS UP !!! The California Standards Test (CST) for science is just around the corner (week of 4/24). This week I will be handing out a review packet that will help you prepare for the test. It will be due on 4/19 and will count both as a major homework assignment and will be graded as a quiz. Do a little bit each day so that it will not turn into a huge assignment the night of 4/18. You don't need your book to do the packet so take it with you on vacation.

Monday 4/2: Read text sections 18-4 and 18-5; Workbook 18-4 and 18-5.

Tuesday 4/3: Read text sections 21-1 and 20-1 pages 632-635; Workbook 21-1 and 20-1 #1-9 only.
