Homework 12/3- 12/7

Hi All,

This weeks homework will be mostly working on dialectic journals.

There will also be one or two assingments during the week. Make sure you are using your time wisely with the Dialectic Journals. Due Dates are: 12/3 first set of entries, 12/10 second set of entries, 12/17 third set of entries plus the other sets put together in a book. See examples in class. 

We are studying American Government so students need to stay focused on class work and study whenever possible.

Binders and Journals are due 12/19

Monday: List out the natural rights you think you should have.

Tuesday: Which parts to the Magna Carta or the English Bill of Rights were most important to you. Write a response.

Binders

Binders are due on 10/12/07 check the syllabus for information. You need to have your three sections: Journals, Graded Assignments, and Notes and Handouts. You may type your journals for up to 40 extra credit points. All of your graded assignments must be in order and the table of content must be filled out and in the front of the graded sections. It is worth 150 points, you also need your homework pass and bathroom pass in the front of your binder for extra credit.

 

Homework 10/1-10/5

Monday: finish timeline and power statement about the French and Indian War

Tuesday: Get an article from a newspaper or the Internet about taxes or government spending. It must be current within the last week. You need to write a power statement and four sentences about the article and say what kind of tax it is or how was tax money spent. Attach the article and have the 5 sentence summary. Due Thursday

September 17, 2007

Homework 9/17- 9/21

This week students will be working on their first research project for the year. It is a simple project with the goals being for students to become familiar with the Library and how to write a power statement. Also students need to make sure that they make the final project neat and that it is hand done. The students will receive a rubric and other handouts with detailed directions.

There will be a D.A.T. day on Friday when we are making butter.

There will be a test on Colonial America in a week or so.  

Monday: Work on Colonial Research Project, due Thursday

Tuesday: same as above and write down what item you are responsible for bringing to class for making butter, due Friday

Wednesday: Same as above

Thursday: Handouts Jamestown and Colonies Worksheet. due Friday.

Homework 9/4- 9/7

There is going to be a test on Native Americans Wednesday (9/5/07). The test is multiple choice, matching, and true false. To study for the test use your flash cards and the notes taken on Native Americans.

Tuesday: Study for the test and flash cards

Wednesday: No Homework

Thursday: Handout on Rise of Modern Capitalism

Friday: No Homework.

The homework for this week is:

Monday: Study for test and get flash cards ready. due Tuesday

Tuesday: Handout the U.S. in the World due Wed.

Wednesday: Handout America's Earliest Settlers due Thurs.

Thursday: Poster on the four Native American Tribes. More information on this assignment will be given out in class.  due Monday

Change in HW for 8/23

There was a change in the Homework for Wednesday and Thursday.

Wednesdays HW is going to be on Thursday Read A Map and Thursdays Flip Book is going to be due on Monday.

There will be a test on Tuesday 8/28/07 the test will include the 12 terms and definitions, a map for identifying and labeling, and a power statement on 5 themes of geography. Everything on the test will be covered in class. Students will get practice maps and flash cards to study. The 12 flash cards are due the day of the test.

Homework 8/20- 8/23

The focus for this week is geography; we will also be checking that books are covered and binders are ready.

Monday: Covered books are due today

        HW: Handout on Oceans and Continents due Tuesday

              Binder and dividers are due Tuesday
 

Tuesday: HW: Handout on "The World of ..." due Wednesday

Wednesday: HW: Read a Map and reproduce the school map on the other side due Thursday

Thursday: HW: Flip book on the 5 themes of Geography, write the definition of each theme and draw a neat and colorful picture that represents that theme.

Friday: usually there will not be homework on Fridays. Have a great weekend!Smile

Thursday: Cover book by Monday and get your binder ready with dividers: Journal, Graded Assignments, Notes and Handouts.
