I was born in Santa Cruz the same year Disneyland opened. When I was a student at Mission Hill Junior High, I spent all my afternoons at the Santa Cruz Public Library reading the complete OZ series. After graduation, I spent several years working for various survey/engineering companies as a Cartographer, and even slashed my way through 300 feet of poison oak on a survey crew! I began working in the PVUSD libraries in 1989, first at Pajaro Middle School, Ohlone, and Starlight Elementary Schools before landing at Aptos Junior High in 1993. Since1994 I have been Executive Director of Pajaro Valley Reading is Fundamental, a charity that annually gives away about 27,000 books to underpriviledged children in the Pajaro Valley. My hobbies include sailing, and keeping two aquariums: a 120 gal freshwater tank, and a 100 gallon reef tank.
